Corrections
A wrong license number or rule can send someone to the wrong contractor. When anything here is wrong, we fix it and date the fix below.
How to report an error
Email editor@homeinspectornear.com with the page address and what is wrong. Radon businesses: include your IEMA-OHS license number or DEP ID. A business that asks to be removed is removed the same day. You do not need to be a customer, and a business never has to pay or advertise to get its page corrected.
How fast we fix it
When we confirm an error, the fix is live on the site within one business day and is added to the log below with its date. If we cannot confirm it, we tell you what we checked.
What we can change, and what we cannot
We fix:
- A license detail that differs from the IEMA-OHS list, the DEP directory or the DORA file we cite.
- A business's phone, website, address or the radon work it names, once the business or its Google profile confirms the change.
- A rule, figure or price that differs from the page we cite, and links that no longer work.
We cannot change:
- The state's own license record. Our next read of the list picks up any change the agency makes.
- What a contractor quotes for your house. The prices here are what each business publishes.
Log of corrections and updates
A correction means we had something wrong. An update means the source changed or moved. Design and speed changes are not listed.
- October 15, 2026 Correction
15 radon listings showed radon testing, real estate testing or post-mitigation testing among the work a business is licensed for, because its own website names it, although the Illinois or Pennsylvania list holds that business for mitigation only. That testing now shows apart, as testing the business mentions, with the state's testing rule and a prompt to check who will run the test. - October 15, 2026 Update
HomeInspectorNear opened with its radon section: the Illinois IEMA-OHS active licensee list (read October 15, 2026), the Pennsylvania DEP Radon Services Directory (edition of October 1, 2026) and Colorado's DORA license file (read October 15, 2026).
